No. Each device includes the free Starter Plan (300 minutes per month). You can upgrade to Pro (1,200 minutes per month) or Unlimited for additional minutes.
What happens if I exceed my monthly transcription limit?
If you exceed your monthly limit, you can either wait until the next month when your minutes reset or upgrade to a higher plan. Your recordings will still be saved; they just won't be transcribed until you have available minutes.

How do I transfer files to my computer or the web?
- Via USB (Note only): Enable Access via USB in the app settings, connect the device to your computer, and copy files from the NOTES or CALLS folders.
- Via the Web: Upload recordings to the app, enable Private Cloud Sync, then log in to Plaud Web to access your files securely.
Where is my data stored, and how is it protected?
By default, recordings are stored locally on your device and in the app. During transcription, all files are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Plaud is designed to comply with HIPAA and SOC 2 security standards. If Private Cloud Sync is enabled, your recordings also sync securely to Plaud Web.
Can I use Plaud offline?
Yes. You can record audio offline on any Plaud device. However, transcription and AI-powered features require an internet connection as they are processed using cloud-based AI services.
