Plaud is expanding its lineup with Plaud One, a pair of wireless headphones that combine call recording, transcription and Plaud Intelligence with an AI agent that can carry out tasks for you. The idea is simple: instead of reaching for your phone or sitting down at your computer, all you need to do is talk.
Plaud One can record meetings and calls directly through the headphones, while the charging case has its own microphones to pick up in-person meetings in the room. But the big news is what happens after the recording.
From notes to action
Like Plaud's other products, Plaud One can transcribe and summarize conversations. Here, however, the concept is expanded with Plaud Agent, which is meant to understand what the user wants to do and then carry out tasks based on that information.
Through integrations with services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion and Slack, the agent should be able to draft follow-up emails, create documents, do research and schedule meetings. Information from previous meetings, the calendar, the inbox and other connected services can also be used as context.
Plaud describes it as working “at the speed of thought”. Instead of first noting down what needs to be done and then carrying out the work, much of it should be possible directly through Plaud One.
“Hey Plaud”
Plaud One can be activated with a long press on the recording button or with the voice command “Hey Plaud”. Questions can then be answered directly in the headphones or via the case.
An unusual detail is that the charging case has built-in eSIM. Plaud One can therefore keep information and AI features updated even without constantly relying on a connected phone or computer.
The headphones have three MEMS microphones and one VPU per side, while the case uses four MEMS microphones together with AI-based beamforming. The case should be able to pick up voices from up to five meters away, while the headphones have a range of around two meters.
A regular pair of headphones too
Plaud One is not just intended as a work tool. The headphones have 12 mm drivers and active noise cancellation, and also work for music and regular phone calls.
The battery lasts for around six hours of recording in-person meetings or three hours of call recording through the headphones. With the charging case, total recording time is stated at up to 25 hours.
Users can also add highlights, images and their own notes to give Plaud Intelligence more context.
Starting with 2,000 units
Plaud One is initially launching as a Limited Explorer Edition and is limited to 2,000 units worldwide. The price is 249.99 dollars, and buyers also receive Plaud credits worth 200 dollars to test upcoming Plaud Intelligence features.
The Explorer Edition is also an opportunity for Plaud to develop the product together with its first users. The company says feedback and real-world use will influence how Plaud One and its agent features develop going forward.
